Nice but could be a touch better
I purchased the Gold Touch typewriter which is nice, 2.50 but its nothing major i suppose even too a poor guy, however, unfortunately i got the 89p upgrade ability too use the typewriter as a permanent keyboard and whilst it works (after full access 👀) you cant write and listen too music at the same time ? Press a key and the music stops, obviously i understand why for the key noise effect.
Yet, you can do it on the actual Hanx Writer app it doesn't seem too effect it, the key noise just play over the music ? Any way that could be fixed 😌 other than that brilliant app nice for when im out away from my typewriter at home
Simple and elegant
If you are looking for a simple typewriter style app that creates pdf letters you can email or save in notes this is perfect. I have noticed in other reviews that people have given less stars because of what the app does but if its not what you are looking for then of course you will be disappointed but it does everything it says in the description. I like that there is an option to buy other styles of typewriter if you want for fun but if like me you don’t wish to it doesnt bug you to buy them like some apps with pop ups etc. You can only create one document at a time but with multiple pages and the option to share it thats all I need so for me the app is perfect. Once i have shared/saved it i can just delete it to make another document. I really like this app and cannot belive how lucky i was to just find it out of the blue when searching for word games because it picked up on “word” and suggested this. Thank you creator for making such a simple but awesome app that i will have fun using again and again at home and at work.
Disappointing So Far
I’ve not been using this application for long but I’m disappointed and I so wanted it to work well. I’m using an iPad Pro with the fold out keyboard and I had high hopes. I’ve found that as I type along a line when I reach the end of the line and the bell rings it then rings again for EVERY key press. This is just awful and is exactly what a typewriter does NOT do, it rings once and they you start a new line manually. I’ve tried putting in a hard return at the end of a line to stop the bell ringing by going to a new line manually and Ok, this stops the bell but when you later generate a PDF of your work you have a load of incorrectly aligned text which is essentially useless. I can’t see any controls to correct this behaviour, you can keep typing with the bell ringing with every key stroke and let it wrap itself but that is just too annoying for words. Best option seems to be to turn off the sound but then what’s the point?
