Editors’ Choice

Plenty of games cast you as an outgoing hero, exploring the wilds with sword in hand - but nobody does it quite like Superbrothers. Stunning art, a haunting soundtrack and poetic storytelling combine to create a magical, mythical mystery that stays with you long after you put it down.

Very charming adventure title.

This has a really strong atmosphere, with beautiful music and pixel art, and the way everything around you reacts to your taps never gets old. The story came across as a touch lightweight to me, but I was surprisingly moved in the darker final chapter, and the dialogue is pretty consistently amusing. Simply wandering these gorgeous environments was a delight, and the combat is serviceable if somewhat rough around the edges. The faux-3D perspective is a bit hard to read, but that’s a problem less often than you might expect. I had problems in the third chapter, where you’re supposed to change the moon phases to impact one of the game’s two worlds, but it kept resetting when I walked in the wrong direction, requiring me to repeat the previous steps over and over again. The puzzles are sound based, and I generally struggled to figure out the solutions, but they feed into the atmosphere. Mostly I love the peculiar combination of irreverence and serenity. This game is lovely.

Good Adventure

This is a good old adventure that’s lacking in the game world nowadays. It’s a well made game. Some suggestions. I wish the beginning could have more guides as I stuck at 2% progress and almost give up. I also wish there can be options to mute the sound effects, especially the bell sound after dialogue. In some area I do find myself clicking more than necessary, so maybe control mechanics needs tweaking. Also as a adventure game, I wish the game can be less linear, maybe more thing to explore, perhaps top-down is better.
