PETKIT 4+

Actual physical products from petkit are great, as indicated by many other reviewers, however this page concerns the App not the products & so should remain focused on the App.

App is mediocre at best of times, feels clunky, recently it's become clogged up with self advertising and random additional "device demos" alongside those i actually have, constant log outs, sketchy notifications.

However the proverbial straw that prompted finger to virtual-keyboard concerns the colossal QA screw up re. the Home-Group "update" which, yes has given me something that should have been in from the get-go, but has also, i guess by consequence, purged all my devices from my account. So now i have a badly (default) named Home-Group, but no devices (and apparently no pets either) meaning i now have to go through the pain of repairing (paring is not too bad on petkit devices if you stay 100% on happy path, but repairing is like trying to get my cat to take a worming pill).

So thanks Petkit, your incompetence (or lack of care, whichever it is) has yet again cost me time.

This is the best addition for my two cats .one Siamese and one Savannah they used it at once not training .. adore the fact it’s WiFi and sends me details when not home about visits and how long for and it even tell me the weight of each cat.
No more litter scooping .. you can set how long after the cats have done the thing I set mine for 10 mins to let the clumping litter set. Takes it away and puts it into bin .. I have the model with a spray inside that auto too .. and I have a sold block in the waste basket to neutralise any smells. Tell me when it’s time to change them and also sends message when little needs changing..
all very very clever .. did a lot of research and this one came too for many many reasons.

I have two major issues with the app that I’ve written to petkit about but get no useful information from them.

Firstly the calendar is out by a whole day, for example if today were Tuesday 24th Oct, the app shows Monday 24th Oct, which is just annoying.

The second issue is that the app no longer retains the detailed notes (time, weight etc). This was one of the selling points for me as I was monitoring one of my cats who was ill. Previously the app would retain the detailed notes for the entire time it has been in use.

Now it only retains it for a few months and that’s it. I find this incredibly frustrating as I need to be able to monitor their weight in particular.

I’ve had no joy from their support team, which provided a switch it off and on type of response, which I have done - I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app to no avail.

They’ve asked for a video of this being completed and it not working… I have asked them to clarify this request twice… do they want a video showing me deleting the app and then showing the camera that the dates are still wrong!!!! I’ve sent them screenshots, but it appears that isn’t good enough.

Basically, if you want accurate data for use on vet visits or to monitor health - this one isn’t it!
