ASUS Router 4+

Nice app and I like to have it running all the time to get a view of what is going on. Anyway I wrote this to request one small change. I have the app running to see if something is hogging the LAN and Internet connection so it would be very helpful to have the taffic statistics screen NOT scale the graph values to the maximum for the visible window but rather the maximum since the app started. This was I can see out of the corner of my eye while working on the desktop computer is something really has grabbed I big chuck of bandwith. With it as it stands the graphs do not reflect this, they are always bumpy because they only consider the visible time window.

The iPad version of the app does not rotate into landscape mode. (The iPhone version doesn’t either but it’s less of a problem there. On the iPad it makes it basically impractical to use it if you’re using eg: a magic keyboard of any of a number of other keyboard-case combos. Basically they’ve made the absolute minimum effort to run at iPad screen resolution beyond just letting the iPhone version scale up. So it’s pretty ugly looking and old-fashioned, and it makes no effort to make worthwhile use of the iPad screen area.

The router itself (DSL-AX82U in my case) works great. The app could really do with some design love. (The web interface on the router itself could even more but at least is fully functional) Your customers here buy Apple, we think app design is important. I very nearly got a Linksys Velop system just for that reason (but i knew this would actually handle ipv6 on FTTC because my ISP sell them configured to do so.)

Was an update 16 hours ago saying the ios 14 local connection pop-up bug was fixed, tried to setup a new £400 router but can't get passed the
"As of ios we need local connection scanning permission allowed to work, go to settings."
First time it wouldn't even allow me to activate the option, after a deleting and reinstalling, it let me accept it but stuck in a constant "Please allow local connection scanning in settings".

So much for setting up is a breeze via the phone app and definitely expect better from a £400 router and Asus.
Shame because all my other Asus products I think are awesome.

PS: running latest ios 14.2.1 on iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Will try it on my old XR running ios 14 and see if it's any better on that.

UPDATE: Worked fine on iPhone XR running iOS 14 for setting up but honestly your better just setting it up over the web interface because you can change so many more settings.
Been using this app since to activate game mode or change QOS preferences, as well as check network usage, block and allow users usage and to update the router.

It’s worked perfectly since it’s been setup for all the features the app offers, because of this I’ve updated the review from 1 star for original reasons above and increased it to 3 stars.
