BimmerCode for BMW and MINI 4+

Massively useful

I recently acquired a BMW M123d and wanted to change various functions; primarily to remove the annoying Auto Stop & Go, and eliminate the frankly baffling auto door locking.

I bought a Veepeak OBD2 module as my existing Carista didn't work with BimmerCode. I plugged the Veepeak into the OBD port and was connected to it immediately via the BimmerCode interface.

Within moments I had stopped both of those functions operating, I added a digital speed readout on the dash, changed the wiper intermittent delay at 0mph, adjusted the behaviour of the interior lights, kept the window lifters active for longer after switching the ignition off, added in a brake light check, and shortened the rear intermittent wiper delay.

Blummin' marvellous! Definitely the best app I've ever used, just so easy to operate, and so flexible. Superb in every way and without a doubt worth the £35, certainly if one considers the cost of getting these things done at a dealership or specialist.

A quick foot note if you're going to go for this app. Make one adjustment at a time. It's clearly very easy to get carried away and before you know it you'll have changed too much, and then you won't be able to remember what you changed and in what menu you made those changes. There is a backup system of course - definitely make use of it. :0)

Bimmercode I love you!

I have never spent so much money on an app but it did exactly what I wanted. My 2014 F31 is now rocking Enhanced Bluetooth (EBT option) functionality. I had reservations but this app is well worth the outlay if there’s one or more features you really want. For me, the other coding options are more cosmetic/nice-to-haves e.g. more control over your lights and an audible ‘blip’ on locking (I love it!). For those who have BMW that rolled out of the factory without many options e.g. comfort locking/tailgate controls this will be great. My huge thanks to the developers you have made my day and I’ll be telling everyone to buy this app. 5/5

Update: if it helps anyone, I used the app on a 2014 F31 with CIC headunit, no NAV but with combox fitted. EBT may not work on your car depending on your actual hardware.

Bitterly disappointed

I bought this initially to turn off the seatbelt alarms as I always reverse onto my property and therefore take my seat belt off. I also cancelled the Auto Stop|Start but I knew by buying it, with the recommended OBDLink, there was lots more I could do, so I followed a Youtuber who also has a MINI Cooper S and I wrote down each step of all the favourite things I wanted to do, knowing my phone would be running this app.
Firstly I put in my OBD and loaded the app and it did an update, I didn't mind as it's been many months since I bought it but then I opened the app to see it didn't look like the YouTuber Ben Rolfe's did. Most importantly it didn't have the Active sound design which I really wanted. I am not a fan of fake sound but if I must have it, then I'd rather have the sound of a JCW than a Cooper S.
I can understand everything not being available for all cars but surely any F56 with fake noise can have it changed? My car is on lease so I can't change the exhaust but I am able to tweak things in the ECU.
I am in two very active MINI owners clubs and others have asked how they can alter things such as the Active Sound design and so I haven't yet reported my findings to members as I know they won't bother buying the app if they can't get it.
I hope you can resolve this matter. I tried to upload a photo of my screen so you can see what I have but can't. Please can you fix this so I can change the fake noise.
