INTRODUCTION

SynthMaster Player for iOS is the MOBILE PLAYER VERSION of the award winning SynthMaster software synthesizer.
It is targeted towards users who prefer to use presets rather than designing their own sounds during music production. Although it is a preset based player, users can edit the following preset parameters:

1) 8 easy parameters assigned by the sound designer
2) 2 XY Pads assigned by the sound designer
3) Effect bypass states and send amounts
4) Layer bypass states and volumes
5) Master volume, polyphony

The free app comes with 100 factory presets. When users complete registration by entering their names and email addresses they receive another 100 factory presets as a bonus!

After completing registration, users can upgrade to the Pro version of the app by purchasing the "Factory Presets" bank via In-App-Purchase (IAP). With the Pro Upgrade all of the 800 factory presets are loaded and also the following features are unlocked:

1. Users can save the changes they have made to the presets.
2. Users can purchase additional preset banks via In-App-Purchase (IAP). We currently have 28 additional preset banks that contain 1750 presets for various genres/styles.
3. Existing SynthMaster users can download their previously purchased SynthMaster preset banks inside the app, so that they don't have to purchase them again.
4. Existing SynthMaster users can export their own presets in SynthMaster v2.x and import them into SynthMaster Player for iPad using iTunes.

Good sound, but messy + ugly interface..

+ doesn't even audiobus that well. Sounds good but interface ruins it by behaving erratically all over the place, plus it looks like it was designed by a blind person, with zero clue about the iOS touch environment. Horrible..

The raving reviews in the description seem to refer to the pc version. Ok, then its a very poor port over. Slapdash and zero thought.
Like "lets cash in quick on the iOS bandwagon"
Appalling..
Kindest thing i can say about it..

Upgrading to pro utterly broke it. So, Waste of cash.. Not to mention the poor implementation of said IAP/obligatory email registration procedure, with no log in, in case of reinstall, meaning you have to do it all over again, and the option that says 'restore purchase' is in small grey text, on grey background, making it near impossible to see ... Um, what??!..

Min spec used to say ipad 3 to ipad air, now it just says 'compatible with ipad', could you be any more vague...

Glad there are still venerable apps like sunrizer, which wipe the floor with this mess in most all respects..

Atrocious..
Needs improvement, to be fair..

*update april 2016;
Overhauled interface. Fine, but it's still erratic...
Among other things;
O/s keyboard, can't select higher octaves whether octave switch or swipe. It stays at c3 or c4..
P/b wheel kills all tuning on snap back. Maybe this was a feature in 1960, but today? No thx..
iPad air 2, latest iOS 9.3.1

Poor Sounds

The iPad App is free for the base version which doesn’t let you save settings - how dated is that trick - and has a reported 200 presets. You can pay for the so-called pro version which allows you to save settings and have a lot more presets but having tried the first 200 I wouldn’t bother.
As this app is all about the presets you’d hope they were good if not great but they’re not, they’re below average and I’m being kind. There are plenty of apps that have far superior Sounds to this and many are free or have a free base version.
Why call something a french horn or a piano or a flute when they sound nothing like one? Call them something else because that is what they are - just synthetic sounds. Having said that even the synth sounds are uninspired.
Glad I only did this free option as this tells me enough to not pay for the developer’s other apps for iPad.

Great sounds - and plenty of them.

It’s too good to describe. The sounds are fantastic and there are tons of them, and they are very reasonably priced. Great for EDM/techno etc and a whole lot more. This is one of my best music making purchases - and I have bought a great deal down the years.
