Antonio was a pure gentleman

Antonio picked us up is his lovely Lexus on time and was exceptionally well presented and mannered. Antonio speaks Portuguese and Español but has very little English. Luckily my little Español was a help but Antonio would just have carried out his instructions regardless, as per agreement. Antonio was concerned for our comfort and was very accommodating to our family (x4 pers) during our trip. I’ve given 5 stars, I would have given 100 if it were possible. Excellent service.

24 hour to contact driver for lost item

Uber is very bad and low quality on support that they literally dont support you at all.

We have lost our phone in an Uber on our last day during our vacation and literally begged support for them to reach out to driver for 5 hours but they only replied with a standard text saying they will jump in after 24-hours if driver doesnt respond to Uber’s forwarded call.
We had our flight in 15 hours, because of lost phone we couldn’t get documents for flight, almost everything got screwed on our last day because Uber has probably couple support personnel in all of their operations since nobody actually had time to react.

When we were able reach out to driver through the forwarded call of Uber after 6-7 hours, he said he didnt pick-up forwarded call coming from Uber because it was an US number and he told us if we called him right away he would probably found the phone but unfortunately some other customer after us probably took it.

Uber instead of calling the driver themselves right away for such an urgent case, they insist on waiting 24 hours because they dont have enough support people to support you when you need it. Because of that we couldnt get our phone back and had to re-schedule flight and arrange last part of our vacation.

Please invest in your support to increase your service quality first before you invest in every single business you see out there.

Fine until it’s goes wrong

Pre ordered a taxi about 45mins in advance then it notified me it was actually on its way in 15mins.
What on earth so it was going to be 30mins early. No good for me, I preordered for a reason. Don’t want to be collected early or be picked up late.
The message part of the app appeared from the driver saying hi what’s the destination so I said I’ve it booked for a certain time it seems you are coming early.
The booking stayed active till my real booking time arrived then on that time as I waited outside the app notified me that the taxi person had canceled the booking.
So now I’m without a taxi and outside, I’d somewhere to be and now after me being super cautious pre booking a taxi I’m without one.
Reordered a taxi to arrive ASAP and in 15mins one arrives. Ended up being late to the booked table at a restaurant

No way at all to make a complaint to Uber about the flaw in their app or to mark down the taxi for the inconvenience and time wasted to me.
There seems to be no visible proof on the app that the first taxi was canceled at the exact time it was meant to arrive. But I hear reviews that taxis can do that on users? And you get charged for canceling a taxi too close to its arrival.

It’s a handy app but that event just left me waiting around when I pre booked and now I don’t really trust it to ever work as you want when you need it to.
