• We added support for custom nicknames and notes for anyone you're chatting with on Signal, even if they aren't in your system contacts. Whether you're adding the missing letters in a lazy friend's profile name, or a reminder about where you met, notes and nicknames provide a convenient and secure way to jot down additional details about your Signal Connections — and they're end-to-end encrypted and protected by your Signal PIN so they can be securely restored if you lose your phone too.

Signal is developed by non-profit organization, which the mission is “to develop open-source privacy technology that protects free expression and enables secure global communication”. Your personal data will not be sold to advertising company. It is a good alternative for WhatsApp, which is going to sell your data through Facebook’s network. I have Already switched most of my groups from Whatsapp to Signal. Feel free to group the Signal community. It will be easier for people to switch to Signal if you create and paste the group link in original whatsapp group.
なかなか良いと思う
ビデオ通話より音声通話が必要なので、もうすぐ終了のハングアウトアプリから乗換え。音質も良いです。 個別メッセージの削除も可能、個人的にストレスは今のところ無いデス。
2022.4.4 追記
iPhone xrでデュアルsim dsdv 利用し始め、Wi-Fiは問題ないがこちら側が4Gの時に着信音まで鳴っても上手くつながらず。 あるいは相手側の通信会社によるのか、こちら側にかけると5コールで切れてしまうとの事。
ごくごくまれにもう片方 のsimでも通話できたがこちらからかけた場合であり、相手側からの着信ができない。 認証を得た方でも得てない方でも、シングルsim状態にすると(片方のモバイルデータ通信をoffに)以前の通り問題なくつながる。
シングルsim状態でないとほぼほぼ通話できない。 暗号化の絡みだろうが何とかならないかな…それとも機種によるの？
これではデュアルsimの意味があまりない、シングルsim状態が必須ではデータ通信ではない方の電話回線のダブルスタンバイができない…
2022.5.30追記 デュアルsimでも、音声通話(電話)simとデータsim(SMSなし)との組合せならばsignal通話は問題なく出来た。
SMS付きのデータsimでは試せていないが…
「端末一台に一つの電話番号のみ登録(認証)可能」というのがこの結果なのでしょうか。

XRとの相性が悪いのかもしれない…
少なくともiPhoneSE2,SE3では普通に使えているらしいので。
I really want to like it but..
I love the idea and the core ideology behind signal. But the messaging is really unreliable. I tried it a few years ago but the messages would never reach on time. I wouldn’t get any notifications unless I actually open the app. I thought it would’ve been fixed by now after the sudden popularity but even now the experience is the same.
My messages are not sent or received until I open the app . Just having to constantly worry about it and keep checking the app to check for replies is frustrating.
