Air Matters is ad-supported. "Air Matters Premium" is an optional yearly subscription that remove ads and support future development. Current price for this premium service is $0.99 USD per year, and may vary from country to country. Your payment will be charged to your iTunes account, and your account will be charged for renewal 24 hours prior to the end of current period. Auto-renual may be turned off at any time by going to your settings in the iTunes Store after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. If you have paid to remove ads in previous versions of "China Air Quality Index", you can restore previous purchase to enjoy one year of premium service.

Fantastic, but not on VPN
App is very good, has nice customizable interface, easy to use, lots of stations and beautiful Apple Watch complications. Unfortunately there is a bug that prevents it from refreshing while on VPN, which is a dealbreaker to me. I am connected to VPN almost all the time and app doesn’t refresh, nor Apple Watch complication does.
Very poor
If you download the app to control the device it is quite a disappointment. Siri Shortcuts don’t work, there is no functionality to schedule sleep mode/automatic mode, some notifications are quite disturbing and there doesn’t seem to be very much you can do about it. The whole interface is fine, but nothing fancy. And if you try to connect to your Philips account for the second or third time it won’t work and Philips support can’t resolve it, so I gave up and created a new account. To summarise - their hardware is nice, software rather poor.
Heavy battery usage
My battery usage normally shows that air matters took about 20% - 25% of battery used. That included around 1m on screen usage. I have background refresh switched off.
Besides that, the app works very well and has a good layout.
