Description
PatternCraft helps you to easily create patterns (for example for knitting, crochet, beading, etc.) and experiment with different colours—something that you can't do with patterns in books or magazines.
Easily tap out patterns with your palette of up to 10 colours (that you can change freely and choose from millions of shades), and 180 knitting and crochet symbols, up to a size of 100 columns x 100 rows.
Once you have entered your pattern you can then change any of the colours to any shade you can imagine; you can even pick colours right out of your photos!
PatternCraft was inspired by the needs of an avid knitter—all feedback and suggestions on how to make it an even better tool for the pattern-crafting community are very welcome!

With a few tweaks it could be perfect
I love this app! It makes my beading projects really easy. I would suggest making it so that when you press on a color the color wheel doesn’t pop up (it makes it tedious to switch between colors quickly which I do a lot when making beading patterns)
I would also suggest adding more colors options to the menu. I have a lot of bead colors and it would be awesome to be able to switch between colors easily.
All in all a really great app!
This app is a godsend
I wanted to start creating my own designs (lettering, symbols, images) and was looking for the right app. This is it! It enables one to see how a pattern you create will look in whatever color yarn you want to work with. You can create the perfect balance of color and see INSTANTLY how it changes the look of your pattern. It has features to create different sizes and print them or share them. There is a mode where you see your pattern as knit which is also helpful. Works very well on my iPad. Well supported app. Had a question on a feature and Stefan got back to me right away. Well worth the price.
Very Useful For My Beading and Knitting Designs
This app has been fantastically useful for precisely designing my own patterns for peyote stitch beadwork and for designing my own fair isle knitting patterns.
It has a few drawbacks - (1) any design file can use only about ten colors, (2) it is not possible to draw a box to select a block of cells, and (3) each time I switch from one pallet color to another, the color-picker toolbox opens.
That aside, this app is delightful! Choose rectangles if you are working with Delica beads; choose brick or quadrangle; any color you can imagine is available, and you can add knitting/crochet symbols over color patterns.
The grid is 100 x 100 and you can even highlight a row or column to mark your place as you work from your pattern. I would definitely recommend this to my friends
