Description

Remember the old school vintage phones with a real dial - yes no buttons and no touchscreen either!

The time you need to dial a number was sometimes the time you thought of what exactly you want to say - or not to call the last digit after all.

Helps to...
... make real calls the old way
... remember phone numbers by heart
... "think before talk"
... relive a bit of nostalgia

Settings allow for volume control of sound effects, and for the hurried - a touch tone feature for faster dialing. Here you can also disable the shake control to delete numbers.

The App is for FREE (supported by ads) - or pay a little and get rid of the ads - use the conveniently build in shop.

Note: full functionality on iPhones only. iPod users still can place mock phone calls.

We updated the user interface to work great on any iPhone.
Hope you enjoy your walk on memory lane.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Vintage Phone

The main reason I didn’t buy this is that the “contacts” button does crash the app. Prior to that I test called myself 3 times and lol I called a long distance number. All in calls response was clear (iPhone volume set to 5); heats recordings perfectly. Far as the dial ability; it does rotate aka spin; u have to make sure the setting is on rotary. I was excited til I try to add folks. Great concept an it looked pretty real; perhaps y’all update in future and I try again

Developer Response ,

Hi, thanks a lot for you feedback!
I just released version 2.1 (today). it fixes the contacts bug. The contacts feature just displays your contacts and their phone numbers to make it easier to memorize numbers.
When selected it copies the number to the dialed numbers box so you can make a call.
I am thinking of adding a animated digit by digit transfer - what do you think?
All the best,
Erik

Great little dialer - and a very responsive developer!

I discovered this app back when my old rotary dialer stopped working. I never really even noticed the Contacts feature until just recently. That was on the last version.

So when I emailed the developer to ask if a fix was in the works I suggested he also have the selected Contact pre-fill the app and press dial automatically (previously Contacts were view-only). While auto-dial from Contacts should probably be a selectable option, that was only a couple days before this latest release came out, and pre-fill is there.

That’s a really impressive response time, given that new versions of apps still need to be approved before being made available...

Beautiful!

A Must Have for every iPhone user! After all, what's a phone without a dial to dial the number? Fire up this app next time somebody wants to borrow your phone.… 🤣

For the record, on my iPhone 12 Mini the "Touch Keys” option doesn’t actually show a touchpad, but gives the dial again which, instead of rotating, emits a touch tone when a number is tapped. The touch tones are well done, but I really got the app for the dial anyway.

A nice enhancement would be to have a dial tone, selectable between the older “gargling“ 120-Hz single tone and the later 2-tone version. Also maybe an option to (a) automatically connect after the last digit is dialed (as in traditional phones), (b) prompt after dialing the last digit, or (c) do as in the existing version. Finally, an option to “hang up” by tapping something to get back to the dial tone.

I’ve been asked by several friends where they could get this app. Keep up the good work!!
